ngezi vumawimbi heritage organization(NVHO)
Our  Story
The Ngezi Vumawimbi Heritage Organization (NVHO) was founded in September 2022 to protect the natural and cultural heritage of Ngezi Forest in Pemba, Zanzibar. NVHO grew from cooperation between scientists, the Department of Forestry (DoF), and communities living around the forest. Located near Makangale village, NVHO promotes forest conservation, protects biodiversity, and educates students and local communities about the importance of nature and cultural heritage. Through community participation and shared knowledge, NVHO works to preserve Ngezi Forest for future generations.
